Hanover based mcddavid is part of the Mopomoso Team. As an improviser mcddavid developed techniques without touching the instrument. He makes chaos poems and subversive performances with balloons and pipe-cleaners. He has composed two operas involving audience participation for Mopomoso.

Ian Mclachlan plays several instruments including Trombone, Euphonium, Cornamuse, Shenai, Marimba to name a few. He has played with many improvisers over the years and also a few solo gigs.

Neil Metcalfe (flute), has been active on the London improvising scene since the 70’s.

Tokyo based Yoko Miura trained as a classical pianist before moving into the worlds of Jazz and popular music. She began free improvisation with the Shakuhachi in a workshop setting and since 2002 has been performing as an improvisor in her native Japan and in Europe, having played with a.o Osamu Karuda, Jean Borde, Hans Koch and Yoshihiro Goseki. She gains her inspiration from natural scenery and nature and her music contains elements of peace and tranquility.

N.O. Moore is an electric guitarist with a parallel interest in electronics and drum machines. As an improviser, he has played with people such as Eddie Prévost, John Butcher, Rachel Musson, John Edwards, Sue Lynch, Alan Wilkinson, Steve Noble, and Steve Beresford. He can now be heard on a number of recordings, including Nous (with Prévost and Jason Yarde) on Matchless, and The Secret Handshake with Danger (with Henry Kaiser, Binker Golding, Olie Brice, and Prévost) on 577.

Maggie Nicols joined London’s legendary Spontaneous Music Ensemble in 1968 as a free improvisation vocalist.

She then became active running voice workshops with an involvement in local experimental theatre.

She later joined the group Centipede, led by Keith Tippets and in 1977, with musician/composer Lindsay Cooper, formed the remarkable Feminist Improvising Group.

Steve Noble was a student of the Nigerian drummer Elkan Ogunde . In the early 1980s he was a member of the group Rip Rig & Panic . In 1985 he took part in the Thessaloniki Jazz Festival as a member of Derek Bailey’s band, with whom he continued to work in the following years.
