Sarah Gail Brand & Alex MaGuire

Described by The Wire magazine as “the most exciting trombone player for years” Sarah Gail Brand has recorded and performed on the international Improvised Music and Jazz scene since the early 1990s with Mark Sanders, John Edwards, Elton Dean, Evan Parker, Phil Minton, Veryan Weston, Lol Coxhill, Maggie Nicols, Wadada Leo Smith, Steve Beresford, Georg Graewe, writer and comedian Stewart Lee and countless others.

British pianist Alex Maguire remembers improvising on the piano before he received any lessons, which started at age eight.

Julian Woods, George Garford & John Bisset

Julian Woods is a guitarist, bassist and composer based in London, currently studying a postgraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music.

George is a saxophonist, composer and improviser active in the UK’s contemporary jazz and free improvisation scenes.

Guitarist, vocalist, improviser and composer, organiser of structures for improvising within (Relay), and film maker.

Acoustic Survey: Paul Jolly, Simon McCorry & Jakub Rokita

Paul Jolly is a saxophonist, clarinettist and flutist working within the fields of contemporary improvised since 1969, when he joined the iconic People Band with whom he still performs.

Simon has been creating music and sound design for theatre & contemporary dance for 20 years years, working with companies such as Headlong, Old Vic Productions, Tiata Fahodzi, House of Absolute, Javaad Alipoor Company & Fabula Collective.

Jakub is an audio-visual installation artist, performer and an arts-activist working out of Luton.
